The purpose of ECUProject.com is to provide a single convenient easily accessible and secure location for offsite backup of Engine Control Unit (ECU) programming and to provide an open and stimulating platform for the topic of ECU technology discussion. ECUProject.com is a central location for the open discussion and dissemblance of information related to modern engine management control.

We have big plans for the future of this website and we hope that you will become a part-of this exciting community!

 

History:

This website was created in July 2007 by enthusiastic Saab owners in direct response to the problem created by the sometimes inappropriate dealer reprogramming (and subsequent loss of information) of member’s engine control units. An educational side-benefit of this site is that users will become comfortable with the direct implementation of hardware and software that may be used for the loading, unloading, and general manipulation of software used for engine management systems. The creators of this site specifically aim to dispel the ‘cloak and dagger’ mystique that has been inappropriately applied to electronic engine management control. With the correct information and tools you can easily work-with your own engine controller! In fact, many of the necessary tools discussed within this website are free and much of the software discussed is open source!

 

Membership:

Backup storage services will initially be offered only to those owners wishing to have a secure offsite duplicate of their Saab Trionic 7 engine management program. Expansion is planned for the future to include first Trionic 5 programming, and after that other models and brands if the demand for the service is great enough to warrant expansion.

Membership to ECUProject.com is free. However, to ensure the quality, sincerity, and integrity of all members, each applicant will be required to backup their engine management software prior to receiving access to the site. The fact that you achieve membership indicates that you are serious about learning and sharing knowledge. If your goal is to pirate the intellectual property of others, this website is not for you.

You are required to register an account to use this site. All accounts are subject to administrative approval.

Once registered you will be notified of how to take advantage of the services and of the benefits this site provides.
